Based on the original idea of “The joy of mobility and impression. Desire to be useful to people.” which has remained unchanged since the foundation of Honda, our job is to develop materials and manufacturing technology that support product design in the research and development of motorcycles, power products, and marine products that sell a wide range of products with ICEs from 25cm3 to 5000cm3 to the whole world.
We create and build the skeleton structure that consists of the frame, chassis, engine, and the attractiveness of each motorcycle, and realize packaging that takes into consideration the appearance, usability, ride comfort, and throbbing feeling to meet the taste of a wide variety of customers. With Honda's unique mechanism and high reliability, we further advance our power products that are useful in various life situations. In the field of motorcycles, power products, and marine products where electronic control technology is increasingly evolving, our job is to research and develop electric and electrical products in a broad field related to electric powertrains, electronic devices & systems, battery assembly and chargers.

(Development of electric products and ICEs)

Our job involves the design, research and development of electronic control systems mounted on motorcycles, power products and marine products. We provide new value through digital services and software updates in collaboration with the cloud. We conduct research and development of electronic control platforms that realize the functional evolution of motorcycles, power products and marine products, such as electrification, advanced driving assistance, and safe driving assistance, as well as control technologies for vehicle bodies and hulls, including powertrains and racing vehicles. Along with the construction of cybersecurity technologies, we provide motorcycles, power products, marine products, and lifestyles that create a safe and comfortable user experience and impression (a daily life full of smiles).

We are involved in a wide range of advanced technology research and product development—from complete vehicle development for vehicles to body, chassis, exterior, interior, electrical components, and control systems. This role focuses on research and development aimed at further expanding the adoption of electric vehicles (BEVs, HEVs, etc.) and advancing the energy services that support them. By combining diverse technologies such as battery pack systems, inverters/converters for power electronics, motors, thermal management systems, AWD systems, and powertrains, we design and develop systems optimized for electric vehicles, taking on the challenge of creating new value to realize a carbon-neutral society.
Through the advancement of electric vehicle systems, innovation in battery pack system technology, and the development of services that connect energy and mobility, we strive to further refine individual technical expertise while pursuing high-level integration of multiple component technologies for system optimization and the creation of new electric mobility solutions. Our goal is to address social challenges through technological innovation and expand the possibilities of future mobility and energy.

This is a role responsible for researching various advanced technologies and business planning needed in the carbon-neutral era, not limited to existing businesses such as automobile and motorcycle, with the aim of creating a society that can provide energy anytime, anywhere, and stress-free with zero environmental impact, and bringing about a society that brings the joy of expanding life's possibilities.

The work includes:
- Research and development of power units utilizing next-generation energy (ICE, fuel cells, next-generation batteries, etc.)
- Research on energy services that improve efficiency in renewable energy use, technologies that utilize solar energy, and load leveling
- Research on resource circulation and CCUS technologies that capture, utilize, and store CO₂and spans a wide range of studies.

Aiming for the Carbon-Neutral Era, Honda’s Power Electronics R&D domain is driving electrification across motorcycles, automobiles, and aviation. We pursue technological innovations in inverters/converters, charging, power supply, and wireless power transfer, as well as advancements in integration technologies. In addition, we promote research and development of elemental and system technologies, including next-generation power semiconductors. This is a technology domain that accelerates mobility evolution and pioneers the future of society, energy, and mobility.

Our role is responsible for the research and development of batteries and battery systems, which are key pillars in Honda's pursuit of "zero environmental impact (achieving carbon neutrality)." We conduct a wide range of activities in the research and development of lithium-ion batteries, solid-state batteries, and fuel cells for next-generation power units. This includes everything from material technology research to the development of battery cell performance and durability, battery operation and utilization technology, and battery material recycling technology. Additionally, we aim to enhance the value of batteries through system development, including battery cell stack technology, battery pack structure and safety technology, low and high voltage power distribution technology, and battery system control.

This job category works on production technology development linked to the evolution of automobile products, and executing new model introduction planning, mass production preparation, quality maturation, conceiving competitive production equipment and mold planning, design, manufacturing and installation globally.
We are working to realize “competitive and strong manufacturing” by developing production technology that improves the appeal of BEV/FCEV/HEV products, and by implementing the planning and production process development of next-generation new factories aiming for environmental Triple ZERO through the evolution of digital technology.

This position conducts research and development to achieve zero fatalities in traffic accidents. This position will conduct research and development of automated driving and advanced driver assistance systems by utilizing intelligent technologies that enable advanced cognitive and behavioral planning, and chassis control technologies that control vehicle movement. Through mobility equipped with intelligent technologies that utilize data science and AI technologies, we will realize a society where people can move people and goods "anywhere, anytime" and where each individual can experience the "joy of free movement that makes you want to go out.

This position involves research and development of logic semiconductors and optical semiconductors that support the "intelligence" of Honda products, such as autonomous driving, and power semiconductors that support the efficiency of electrification.

For logic semiconductors, you will design, prototype, and test-evaluate SoCs and NPUs, as well as develop BSPs and SDKs.

For optical semiconductors, you will design, prototype, and test-evaluate laser semiconductors and silicon phtonics semiconductors used in LiDAR sensors.

For power semiconductors, you will evaluate next-generation semiconductors, research and development of peripheral and applied technologies, and development for in-vehicle applications.

Through this research and development, we will contribute to energy conservation in the digital society and realize a mobility society in which everyone can move with confidence.

This job category works on the development of products and services to provide new "joy and value" for customers by means of the "technologies connecting In-car/Out car with the people". Research and development are carried out on both UI technologies applied in such as meter, head-up-display, display audio, telematics and smartphone connection, as well as technologies for vehicle built-in information system and connectivity, research and development of AI technologies to further advance smart services for In-Car and Out-Car applications, enhancing the mobility experience to provide safety and security for customers with a "connected car".

This position contributes to business by promoting data-driven problem solving from a company-wide perspective to address issues faced by each department.

Together with the construction of cyber security technology, we will provide vehicles and lifestyles that bring a pleasant user experience and excitement which can be used with peace of mind.

Drive software development ranging from in-vehicle control systems for four-wheel vehicles to advanced digital services—aimed at delivering vehicles and lifestyles that provide excellent user experiences and emotional impact.
[Responsibilities]
・Develop powertrain and vehicle dynamics control, electronic powertrain systems, integrated vehicle control, and charging UX. All software is developed continuously using with secure cloud connectivity and software update technologies for timely feature enhancements.
